Gothenburg, Stockholm Shore Excursion - This half day shore trip provides an excellent tour for first time visitors. You enjoy a driving tour of Gothenburg to see the main sites and then take a canal cruise to learn more about the city and photograph it from the water.
Upon arrival in Gothenburg you are met at your ship by your private licensed guide. You immediately begin a scenic city driving tour where you see the most interesting sights. Included are Jarntorget Square with the Iron Square Well and the Five Girls fountain, Slottsskogen Park which is a green oasis in the center of the city, the Feskekrka fish market, Linn̩gatan Boulevard and much more.
Next you stop at the Kungsportsplatsen pier for a classic city tour on the Paddan Canal boats which shows you the beauty of Gothenburg from a waterside perspective. You will see the old moat and canals that date from the 17th century while learning about the history of the city construction and defense. The guided tour continues beneath the many low bridges, including the extremely low Osthyveln (cheese slicer) bridge, which brings us out into the fascinating harbor with traditional shipyards, the fishing harbor, modern and old housing, expanding commercial and academic sites and the maritime museum.
At the end of your boat cruise, you are returned to your ship.
