This delightful Amsterdam shore trip shows you many traditional things from Holland while taking an off the beaten path route. You will visit a local farm to see the cows, learn about clog making and sample Dutch Gouda cheese. Then you also visit the town of Edam and a local windmill.
After meeting your private guide you drive through the scenic countryside to a local farm. While you are here you have the chance to hand feed the local cows which are quite friendly! You also watch a craftsman making the famous Dutch clogs.Naturally you also get the chance to taste the local cheese which came from the very cows you fed.
Next we include a stop in the former fishing village of De Rijp where you can enjoy a typical lunch (meal not included).
Later this afternoon you stop in the 18th century village of Edam which was once a sea port but is now on a fresh water lake due to the dikes which created the Ijsselmeer lake. The town is famous for its Edam Cheese. While you are here you enjoy walking on cobblestones past canal houses and beautiful gardens. Of course, there is a chance to sample the famous cheese if you wish.
Finally you enjoy a stop at a local windmill to learn about how these structures have helped to form the country Holland is today. These structures helped to form the Bemsteer Polder and today are UNESCO Heritage sites and you are sure to be impressed.
At the end of the day your guide will bring you back to the pier.
