You start your tour by riding the Floibanen funicular which travels up to the Floyen mountain massif. From the top of the mountains you enjoy stunning views of Bergen, the fjord capital. This attraction has become a must-do in Bergen.
Next you head over to the fish and flower market which has been the historical center of the fish trade in Bergen. The market gives you an idea of what the locals eat and there are usually free samples of items such as whale and salmon caviar.
Next you explore the Bryggen Harbor which dates back to Bergen being as a member of the Hanseatic League. From the middle of the 14th century until the middle of the 18th century this area was used as a Hansa dock for trading and processing of goods. The wooden houses that are here are about 300 years old and many of them are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Strolling the narrow alleyways between the storefronts gives you the feeling of medieval Bergen.
Another sight that is important to see is St. Mary's Church which is the oldest building in Bergen, dating back to the 12th century. It is the best preserved of the city's three medieval churches.
