This
Budapest day trip visits the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Holloko, where folk art and tradition live on. You are invited to come and discover one of Hungary’s most popular attractions.
Your guide will meet you at your Budapest hotel or Danube River cruise ship and you immediately depart for the picturesque village Holloko, which is located about 1.5 hours north of Budapest.
When you arrive your guide will lead you through this famous Paloc Ethnographic village, which was built in the 17th and 18th centuries. You will walk along narrow streets past typical rural Hungarian houses as you quickly come to understand the popularity of this village.
At the western part of the village lies the castle ruins of Holloko which date from the 13th century and help the guide to explain the history of the peoples who have lived here. From the hill above the village you can take beauitful photos of Holloko.
After visiting the Village Museum and Castle there is some free time for you to enjoy lunch before retiring to Budapest.
