This Cannes shore trip visits the perched hilltop village of Gourdon, located in the Provence Maritimes Alps. In addition to enjoying stunning views from Gourdon, your driver-guide will also bring you to a local candy factory and the original Grasse Perfumery. You learn how flowers are made not only into perfume, but also yummy treats.
After meeting your driver-guide you depart for the town of Grasse, known around the world for its exquisite perfumes. This is a surprisingly delightful stop for everyone. You'll enjoy a tour of the Fragonard Factory where you learn how local flowers are turned into perfume. It is here where some of the most famous perfumes were first developed.
Next you drive deep into the beautiful Loup Gorge where you enjoy dramatic views and waterfalls. You reach the perched village of Gourdon at an elevation of about 2100 feet. You have free time to explore the Provencal style village with its medieval stone buildings and feudal castle. From here you can see almost 80 miles of the Riviera coastline, located about 20 miles away.
After exploring Gourdon your final stop is at the Florian Candy Factory. You'll enjoy a tour of the factory and learn how local flowers are also used to make delicious candies and jams. You'd be surprised how good rose flavored jelly or jasmine flavored candies can be as you try the many free samples. Of course there are also many delicious chocolates and the Provencal favorite called nougat.
At the end of the day, you are returned to the port in Cannes with wonderful memories and a few gifts to take home with you.
