TOUR DESCRIPTION

Greenock Shore Excursion

This Greenock tour is the most popular tour we offer and it appeals to those who appreciate nature and want to see some of the most beautiful scenery in Scotland. You enjoy stops to see beautiful villages, sheep dogs, hairy highland coos, an historic mill, a whiskey tasting, Duone Castle and also Glasgow's Cathedral. A typical Scottish lunch is also included.

After meeting your private guide, you immediately depart for Loch Lomond, which has the largest surface area of any fresh water Loch in the UK. The Loch is 24 miles long and five miles wide and at its deepest point is some 600 feet deep. On the Loch there are approximately 38 Islands, some of them inhabited and some kept natural. The area is renowned for its beauty and tranquility and offers picture postcard views around every corner. You enjoy a stop in Luss Village for photos and views of the natural beauty of this special place.

Next you drive through the beautiful countryside of the Trossachs to Aberfoyle. This charming town is located in one of Europe's most beautiful locations and while you are here you will be treated to a fabulous sheep dog show, and also a chance to buy a special Scottish gift from the fabulous woolen mill. This old mill dates back to 1758 and includes an original waterwheel which was used during Scotland's heyday in the textile industry. The famous Kilmahog rug was produced here.

The next stop is in Callander to meet 3 hairy highland coos and offer them carrots for lunch. While you are here you can enjoy a free whisky tasting.

A highlight for some is a visit to Doune Castle which has been made famous by being seen in the Game of Thrones, Holy Grail, Outlander.

Included during this tour is a stop in a local public house (pub) where you can enjoy a typical Scottish lunch. We choose a pub which is popular with locals so that you get the true Scottish experience. Will you choose a steak pie with mashed potatoes and vegetables or fish and chips or one of the other local specialties? A drink is also included so you will need to decide on a local beer, whiskey, glass of wine or a soft drinks. Your meal and drink is included in the tour price.
