This half day
Hvar shore trip is a memorable treat for all the senses, taking you to off the beaten paths of Hvar. You will smell lavender, taste a local delicacy, see picturesque Dalmatian villages and hear the waves breaking on the beaches of this beautiful island.
After meeting your guide at the port in Hvar you immediately depart for the village of Brusje. The island of Hvar is known for its lavender and the air is often tinted with the sweet smell of this pretty flower. Brusje is a typical Dalmatian village whose old houses line the main street. Lavender growing and processing keeps the local economy turning here and today you will learn about the various products and uses it has here in the Adriatic. After a short walking tour you learn about lavender production and then relax while you enjoy a local cake with coffee or tea (not included).
Next you drive to Vrboska, the smallest settlement on Hvar which boasts an eclectic mixture of architectural styles including romantic and Gothic. While you are here you visit the Fishermans Museum and the 16th Century Church of St Mary of Mercy. A surprisingly attractive building, this church was originally built as a defense fortress against invading Turks.
Your final stop is Milna which is located in a protected cove with two sandy beaches that are separated from each other by a pine forest.
At the end of your tour, you return to the port in Hvar.
Note: This tour is intended for June, July or August during the lavender season.
Mobility: Folding wheelchair OK, some sites may be inaccessible (advance notice required)
