Hvar Shore Excursion
This Hvar shore trip is great for those who want to see the island in a relaxed manner. You enjoy a driving tour with stops for photos and panoramic vistas of the island, its charming towns and the Adriatic Sea.
After meeting your guide at the port in Hvar, you immediately embark on a relaxing panoramic tour of the island. First up is the town of Hvar which boasts a tourism tradition going back over 100 years. You stop at the Venetian style fortress which, sitting on the hill above the old town, dominates the city. For some people, hiking to this 16th century citadel is an exhilarating (if not exhausting) experience, but with this private tour, you have the comfort of driving to it. From its gardens you enjoy wonderful views over the old town, the Pakleni Islands and the sparkling blue Adriatic Sea. The water is so beautifully clear that the late Jacques Cousteau declared it the cleanest sea on earth.
Next you drive along the old coastal road to Starigrad, the oldest town on the island and one of the earliest settlements in all of Europe. The oldest part of Starigrad is an UNESCO Protected World Heritage Site. You enjoy a photo stop at the Dominican Monastery which was founded in 1482. There are several other brief stops so you can get photos of the island's beautiful views.
Finally you head back across the island to the port in the town of Hvar.
Mobility: Folding wheelchair OK, some sites may be inaccessible (advance notice required)
