TOUR DESCRIPTION

Milan Tour

This Milan tour provides the first time visitor the chance to get photos of Milan's top sites and also some free time if you wish to enter a site or do some shopping. Sites seen include the Milan Cathedral, the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, La Scala Opera House and Sforza Castle.

After meeting your English speaking driver you immediately drive into the historical heart of Milan where the major sites are located. Your first stop is the largest gothic cathedral in the world. The Milan Cathedral, or Duomo, dominates the main square and it dates from 1418. If you would like, you can enjoy time to enter the cathedral or even consider taking the elevator to the rooftop for views over the city and a close up look at many gothic statues.

Nearby you have the chance to walk through the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele. This was the first and still the finest glass covered shopping street in the world, dating back to 1865. Milan stands shoulder to shoulder with Paris as the undisputed capitol of fashion. Stores feature designer goods that are an essential point of reference for those privileged travelers who want to keep their finger on the pulse of world-class trends. Maybe your budget does not allow you to do some shopping here but you still want to see what is trendy in the world today. As a bonus there are also some world class restaurants and caf̩s to grab a coffee or dessert if you wish.

Next you see the La Scala Opera House. The opera house opened in 1778 and is one of Italy's top historic opera houses.

Your last stop today is Milan's castle, known as the Castello Sforzesco and dating back to 1300. The castle is located right in the city center and it's courtyards are one of the city's parks so you are free to take a stroll through it. If you are staying in Milan for a few days, you might consider coming back to visit one of several museums which are located inside the castle interior.

You driver will bring you back to your hotel at the end of your tour.

Mobility: Folding wheelchairs OK (some sites may be inaccessible, advance notice required)
