Monaco / Monte Carlo Shore Excursion
This full day Monte Carlo shore trip is a nice alternative for those who have already been to Monaco and Monte Carlo in the past. The excursion includes a private van and driver-guide and you explore other hot spots on the Riviera such as Nice, Cap d'Antibes, Cannes and St Paul de Vence. There is also free time for lunch at one of the stops.
After meeting your driver-guide at the pier in Monte Carlo, you follow the Upper Corniche until you reach Nice. The road runs along the cliff tops high above the sea, so you can enjoy the stunning beauty that a French Riviera tour offers.
Once you are in Nice you drive down La Promenade des Anglais, the famous palm tree lined street that parallels the most famous beach in the Riviera. You enjoy some free time in the old town of Nice to walk through the beautiful flower market (closed Mondays when flea market takes place).
Leaving Nice you continue following the coastline to Cap d'Antibes, which is considered the most exclusive area of the Cote d'Azur. You'll see the private port of billionaires and walk past their massive luxurious yachts. You'll have a chance to stroll on 16th Century ramparts along the sea side or meander through the local covered Provencal market. The Chateau Grimaldi, which sits above the town, was used as a studio by painter, Picasso.
The next stop is Cannes where you enjoy some free time along the Croisette Boulevard, lined with 5 Stars hotels, designer boutiques and the Cannes Film Festival Palace which gives Cannes its renowned "Hollywood" atmosphere. You have free time in Cannes so you can enjoy lunch (meal not included).
Later today you visit the Provencal hilltop town of Saint Paul de Vence. This medieval jewel has long been known for its artists and it is where many painters and actors live today. You can walk the town's medieval walls and through its narrow and crowded main street to enjoy the many art galleries and boutiques.
At the end of this popular Monte Carlo shore excursion, you'll return to the port.
