Nha Trang Vietnam Shore Excursion - The private shore trip highlights the
picturesque countryside dotted with palm trees, fruit orchards and rice paddies where
locals farm and work in traditional
cottage industries that are the mainstream of their lives.
You also explore Nha Trang city and learn about its history.
After meeting your guide you drive into the countryside to learn first-hand about the lifestyle and culture of the local people. You stop at a small pottery factory where age old techniques
can still be seen, and the from there, continue to a rice field where you see
farmers cultivating Asias most precious food. You visit a local rice paper factory to learn how the rice is turned into paper for dishes such as spring rolls. You enjoy a break surrounded by stunning rural scenery to rest under the cool of trees
with some traditional Vietnamese tea.
You return to Nha Trang to visit the Embroider Workshop where you see skillful workers who spend months working on a single piece of
art.
Next is a delicious lunch at the Ana Mandara Resort on Nha Trangs beach front (drinks not included).
This afternoon you visit the Po Nagar Temple Tower which was built in the 8th century. The temple is located on Mount Cu Lao which offers panoramic views of the surrounding area. This unique structure is a symbol of Hindu Champa culture. The tower was named in honor of a princess who introduced her
people to weaving and wet rice cultivation. Today the tower remains a place of worship for many.
Next is a stop at the Xom Bong Bridge where former Cham spiritual mediums used to live. Today you can admire the colorful local fishing boats in the river below.
Then we come to Long Son Pagoda with the huge statute of Buddha, founded in the late
19th century. If you are up to the challenge, you can climb the 152 stone steps leading to the giant
white Buddha seated on a lotus blossom. There are wonderful views over the whole city from this spot.
Later you visit the Dam Market for shopping and learn about the market culture of the Vietnamese people. You will stroll amongst thousands of locals who are purchasing their daily food, clothes and more. You will see fruit, vegetables and seafood, plus local Nha Trang specialties such as dried seahorses and lizards.
If time is available you visit the Dr. A. Yersin Museum, dedicated to the scientist who founded Xom Bau village, which was the original village in this area.
