TOUR DESCRIPTION

Nynashamn, Stockholm Shore Excursion - The highlight of this Nynashamn shore tour is a visit to Stockholm's famous City Hall where the Nobel Prize banquet takes place. Later you get an overview of Stockholm's Old Town, the island of Djurgarden and beautiful views of Stockholm from Fjallgatan.

After meeting your driver guide you start the drive into Stockholm. Your first stop is a tour of the beautiful City Hall. The building was built in 1923 and today its high spire topped with three golden crowns has become the symbol of Stockholm. The Blue Hall is the location where the world famous Nobel Prize banquet takes place each year, followed by a ball in the Golden Hall. You will be amazed by the mosaics and murals which line the interior.

Next you drive to the island of Djurgarden, or "Royal Game Park". The island is part of the National Park system and is the favorite recreation area for both locals and tourists. The island is home to historical buildings, museums, an amusement park, yacht harbors, plus beautiful forests and meadows.

Following this beautiful drive you visit the Old Town, known as Gamla Stan. The city of Stockholm is made up of 14 islands and peninsulas which are connected by bridges. The Old Town encompasses three of these islands. You enjoy time on foot where you can see the Royal Palace and Cathedral (Stockholm's Oldest Building) plus time to enjoy the narrow cobbled streets that are lined with antique shops and boutiques.

While you are in the old town, you have free time for lunch (meal not included).

Later you drive to a new district of Stockholm called Hammarby Sjostrand. Everything built in this part of the city is designed to be Eco-friendly.

At the end of your tour is a photo stop at Fjallgatan. This area sits on a cliff where you enjoy well preserved wooden buildings dating from the 1700s and also fantastic views of Stockholm. Finally you drive back to the pier in Nynashamn.
