This Palma de Mallorca shore trip visits Valldemosa, one of the most beautiful villages in Mallorca. A highlight is a visit to the 13th century monastery which was originally built as a royal residence.
After meeting your private guide, you drive to the picturesque and romantic village of Valldemosa which is set amongst the hills in a beautiful lush valley. When you arrive you visit the Monastery de la Real Cartuja, which is where the composer Frederic Chopin and his lover stayed in 1839 to avoid the controversy of their affair. You see the cells they occupied, which are furnished and decorated in the style of the times. Also included is a visit to the lovely gardens.
Next you have free time to walk the narrow streets of typical stone-built Majorcan homes which are adorned with lots of flowers on the balconies and doorsteps. You will find many small caf̩s and boutiques to enjoy. If you prefer a short hike, there are trails with picturesque views in the nearby hills. Your guide will also recommend a place to try the local pastries, called the coca de patata. This pastry is made from potatoes but is sweet and typically eaten with hot chocolate or coffee.
At the end of the tour, you return to Palma.
