Rotterdam Shore Excursion - This tour visits the Mauritshuis Museum where you see many Dutch Masters. You have a lunch break in a beach resort and then a tour of the Royal Delft Pottery Factory. The tour ends with a driving tour of Rotterdam.
After meeting your private guide you drive to the Hague, the third largest city in the Netherlands and the seat of the Dutch Government. Your first stop is at the famous Mauritshuis Museum. The museum's collection consists of approximately 800 paintings, 50 miniatures, 20 sculptures plus drawings and prints. The most famous piece is Vermeer's 'The Girl with the Pearl Earring'.
After visiting the museum you have a driving tour of the Hague where you will see the Parliament House, the
Queen's Palace, the International Court of Justice and more.
Next
you enjoy a stop at the popular beach resort of Scheveningen. You can
stroll on the long pier which extends well into the Baltic sea, enjoy a
walk on the promenade which is lined with shops and have lunch in one of the many cafes
This afternoon you visit Delft where you enjoy a short stop to see the magnificent Medieval Market Square before going to the Royal Delft Pottery Factory. This factory is the only remaining factory of the 32 earthenware factories that were established in Delft in the 17th century. You will watch and learn as artisans create new pieces of this beautiful local craft.
Late this afternoon you enjoy a panoramic driving tour of Rotterdam
where you see the juxtaposition of old world Europe and ultra modern
architecture. At the end of the tour you are brought back to the port.
