This St. Tropez shore trip visits Bormes les Mimosas and Le Lavandou, two medieval villages which are typical along this part of the coast. It is a nice tour to soak up the atmosphere in a more casual style than some of the glitzy resorts towns nearby.
After meeting your driver guide in St Tropez, your first stop is the medieval village of Bormes-les-Mimosas, classified as one of the most beautiful places in the Var region. You'll walk its narrow streets, marveling at the ancient stone buildings seemingly covered with flowers and studded with ocean views. Photo opportunities abound.
The earliest known residents in the hillside commune above the tiny Port of Bormes were the Celtic-Ligurian Bormani tribe. They lived in the region around 400 BC. If you are up for a short hike, the ruins of its 13th century ch̢teau make an interesting goal for the short climb to its hilltop perch. The St.Trophime Church and Notre Dame de Constance Chapel appear to have been careful situated as the views of the coast and surrounding area are really stunning from here.
While you are here you enjoy free time.
In the old fishing village of Le Lavandou you will easily see why people love life on the Riviera. Sandy beaches and coastal foot paths rule the sea side. Small churches, fountains, caf̩s and local markets call for a relaxed life. Painters, writers, singers, journalists, actors, fashion models and more have all come to rest or seek inspiration in Le Lavandou. Now it is your turn to enjoy this lovely spot on the Riviera.
