Taormina Shore Excursion - This full day private shore trip combines the sites related to the Godfather movies series, Taormina's old town and the famous Greek Theater, making it the most popular tour for those who have a full day available.

After meeting your guide you drive along the coastal road where you'll see villas, gardens and gorgeous views of the sea on your way to the artistic town of Savoca. Once you arrive you will enjoy a walking tour to include sites associated with the The Godfather movies, made famous by Francis Ford Coppola. Movie buffs will remember from the film that after Micheal's wedding, he and two companions walk down from the church to Vitelli's Bar for the reception. The bar is located on the main piazza of town and there are stunning views of the sea from here.

You will enter the bar which has remain unchanged since and the table where Michael sat to ask the padrone for the hand of his delightful daughter Apollonia is still there. You'll have the chance to see a collection of photos of famous scenes shot here and then you can taste the famous Sicilian's granita (chopped ice with lemon juice).

After exploring the main streets of Savoca you'll drive to Forza d'Agro which was chosen for the filming to stand in for the actual town of Corleone because it is more picturesque and also because the real Mafia (in Corleone) did not want the films to be made. In 1990, Al Pacino and Sophia Coppola shot scenes for the Godfather III here. After a tour of the town including visiting Chiesa Madre and Saint Agostino churches, you return to Taormina.

Taormina is a resort town which boasts some of the best Sicilian scenery. The town is located on a a hill overlooking the sea and with the Etna volcano as its backdrop. The city was colonized by the Greeks in 403 BC and became a federated city of the Roman Empire in 34 BC. Today it is one the most chic resorts in Sicily.

Your first stop is the gorgeous Greek-Roman amphitheater, the second largest in Sicily. It was originally built by the Greeks and then renewed later by the Romans. Today it still boasts near perfect acoustics and is the setting for music, film and dance festivals. Next you drive into the town where you enjoy a short walking tour and some free time to explore some of the chic shops or relax in one of the cafes in this famous resort town.

You return to the pier in Taormina at the end of the tour.
