This private Venice shore trip visits Verona so you can learn the story and see the sights of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, the most famous love story in the world.
You will be met at the pier in Venice by your private English speaking driver who will take you to Verona. Upon arrival in Verona you meet your licensed city guide for a private walking tour during which you visit the Herb and Gentlemen's Squares to set the historical period of Romeo and Juliet. You see Romeo's house and Carlotti Palace, the place where the duel between Romeo and Tybalt took place. Along Pallone Street you stop at a bust of Shakespeare.
The highlight of the tour is Juliet's balcony. The stone balcony is part of a 13th century house built in the style of Gothic architecture. Also located here is the bronze statue of Juliet. Many people leave a love note or rub Juliet's breast for good luck. Then you visit the museum inside Juliet's home which displays typical furniture from the time period.
Before leaving Verona you will also have a short stop at Piazza Bra where you can take photos of the famous Roman Arena which sits near the cities main Roman gate. At the end of your tour, your driver will take you back to the pier in Venice.
